We hosted a little housewarming party last weekend. Yes, the big news is that we are finally unpacked and settled into our new place. I wanted to order a really cute vegan cake for the party and had just seen an adorable vegan cake donated from a local business called Cakeworthy at a fundraiser I went to recently.
Here's the fundraiser cake that made me call them for my housewarming... isn't it adorable? It looks like it's right out of a Dr. Seuss book. It was refreshing to find a company where all of their cakes are optionally available vegan!
Here I am with my housewarming cake. The inside was chocolate, very rich and tasty. Everyone thought the cake was fake when they saw it. Kind of looks like a toy!
In other news I went to a coworker's wedding last weekend and wore an $800 dress that I found for $30 in a second hand store. It was in perfect condition too! Sometimes I think Park Slope ladies buy something and only wear it once (or not at all, haha). Sorry for the blah subway background in this photo, I forgot to get a better shot.

sunjo, glsd you're moved in! the cake looks fab. what a pretty pink dress you found. total score. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy housewarming! I wish I could find someplace around here to get some vegan baked goods, but alas, there are none. Your cake is super cute. Do you have to take off the fondant icing stuff to eat it?
ReplyDeleteThanks! I didn't really eat the fondant stuff because it was really heavy but it did seem edible!
ReplyDeleteSome people ate the fondant! I think most people don't because it isn't like icing. I was always told it's edible but it's really only for decoration and you're not supposed to eat it? That cake was SO awesome and cute. I looked at all their cake pictures and am trying to figure out when I could ever have an excuse to get an astronaut cake?
ReplyDeleteI meant to say it at your place but your hair is so long now! It looks so pretty!
I love the astronaut cake. Maybe for your next birthday? Or a cat's birthday ;) My other favorite is the "Bigger Than Life Cupcake".
ReplyDeleteThanks about my hair, I feel like it takes forever to grow! It was only looking that good at the housewarming b/c I had a professional blowout for a wedding the night before.
